With fall is upon us it always makes me aware to how in our life we shed off things in order to bring in the new. When we let go of old beliefs that no longer serve us, we make room for the new ones that are empowering. Just like the leaves that are falling off the trees, these old patterns of thinking need to be shed off.
I am aware of how much we hold onto unwanted beliefs because we don’t even know they are there. Much of these are subconscious beliefs and are under the surface. What I believe happens is that one side of our brain says we want something, but the other side says there is some perceived danger there. When the two sides of the brain aren’t congruent there is a block in trying to achieve that goal. For instance, if you want to achieve a goal of reducing so many pounds, but somehow your subconscious perceives there might be something adverse to accomplishing it, the mind won’t be congruent in being able to accomplish it. Thus, you will be unable to reach your goal. You might want to achieve a task at work, but your mind tells you something else.
I have found over and over people describe they are interested in getting to a goal, but behaviorally it doesn’t happen. I have to educate people about how our subconscious fights accomplishing things. I have used muscle testing as a way to assess what the subconscious is really wanting. Muscle testing is based on the concept of internal energy fundamental to traditional Chinese medicine. It is a noninvasive way of evaluating the body’s imbalances and assessing its needs. It involves testing the body’s responses when applying slight pressure to a large muscle to see the response to various emotions on a chart or questions asked. It’s like accessing your internal software. All the data of information regarding your beliefs and emotions are stored there. We are just trying to discover what the information is that is recorded so we can clear out the negative programming.
One method I use is able to balance an affirmative belief with a tool called Psych-K- www.psych-k. By doing a simple body balance of both hemispheres, you may then find that your more congruent with what you do want. So think of how many things you have wanted to overcome or accomplish something, but it isn’t happening.
