Welcome to our spring in Colorado. Being a native Texan I am ready for spring flowers!! My new newsletter look reflects the growth that we can experience as we enter this time of spring renewal.

Lately I have been hearing a message that I need to slow down some so I don’t keep myself in a perpetual state of striving. It started showing up in low energy for me. My body is usually the way I get the signals that I need to take heed to a message.

I am recently struck with how busy everyone is in today’s world. James Dobson says that the biggest sin in today’s world is busyness. I really believe it as it robs you of your vital connection with yourself and others. It’s also known that Baby Boomers today suffer from never feeling like they are living the quality of life they desire. If it’s not the demands of your spouse, children, and work, it’s the demand of aging parents who become like children!

With Spring finally on the horizon, it’s time to enter into some renewal of spirit, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. When these areas are in balance, you tend to be better able to listen to what’s emerging from within.

One thing I stress in my work with others is to become more self-focused which I call “healthfully self-focused.” You might say you feel like that is selfish, but if you aren’t taking care of yourself, how are you going to be available for others?

So what does that look like?

• Develop a belief that supports practicing good self-care and schedule into your “Mommy or My Time.”

• Eliminate those things you are tolerating by not saying “no” more often.• Listen to the inner voice that gives you an inkling about what you should do. Eliminate those “should” voices that try to accuse you of not doing enough.

• Allow yourself to be less than perfect. Humans aren’t perfect and certainly there are no superwomen in the world even though you would like to think so.• Allow yourself to hear the intuitive messages that you don’t tend to trust concerning your best direction. Listen to your body as it is the holder of your emotions.  When it’s feeling some kind of pain, it’s a good indication that you have some buried emotions that need to be released.Enter this time of renewal with a new zest of life!
